The sky is just a collective name for all of the atmospheric levels, which describe the type of air in that area.
The sky has no shape since gas, which makes up the sky, can not be made into a shape.

Dome shaped from where I live on top of a mountain. I see 180 degrees of sky! And I don't even live in the Big Sky State!

Because the blue sky we see is sunlight playing off the air in the atmosphere, and as we all know the air circles the globe in a sphere.
