i hooked uo an lcd monitor to my laptop (witout a docking station) and it says no singal wut should i do???
please help!!!!!!!

You need to go to...
Control Panel -> Appearance and Themes -> Display -> and click the 'Settings' tab. From there, you can tell your laptop that you are using 2 monitors or switch to just the LCD if you want. My laptop doesn't have a 'switching' button and that is what I did when I hooked up a monitor.

I believe most laptops have a button somewhere to enable the external monitor. You need to do that first. After you get your external monitor working, you then need to get to your display property settings and set up the resolution, color quality and refresh rate.
