Time is a *****.
Slingin' Sammy Baugh and Sid Luckman redefined the QB position. Before then it was like LT but occasionally threw a pass (like as often as LT does:)) They also played both ways.
Baugh was a better safety than Montana could dream of being.:)
Then there is Otto Graham of the '50s Browns, ans Bobby Layne of the '50s Lions.
Then there is Starr, Unitas and Lin Dawson in the AFL.
Then names you might know like Bob Greise, Bradshaw, Staubach, Montana, Aikman, Elway, and Brady among others.
(Heck, personally I'd add Jim Plunkett, but no accounting for taste.:))

Fran Tarkenton- Owned record book pre Marino
Peyton Manning- Look at his stats
