Some screwy pagan notion that yet remains with humans about "darkness and light." While most people intellectually understand the different physics of paint color versus light color, people unconsciously do not know how to simply be fair to someone who is different. Instead, humans discriminate.
Did you know that humans are hardwired to form patterns of behavior and then act on them? Yep. Humans don't like it to be always a new thing, so they take one experience and let that guide the rest of their dealings. Saves time and effort, ya know?
So, having discriminated and hurt, one has a poorer person. Now guilt happens, and no one likes that, either. All the racist "white power" groups are trying to hide their guilt before a just and holy God. And after guilt is greed: "What, share with them?!"
It goes downhill from there.

You are absolutely correct, and the answer is the world is structured on race. The superiors are at the top, and are white.
Below the whites are the Asians (Yellow)
Below the Asians are the Mixed peoples; such as "Middle Easterners".(Brown)
Below the Mixed people are the Blacks.
It is a pecking order and they all prey on the Blacks. But, we must rise above as we solve our problems, because no one else cares!!!

We are taught to associate colors with qualities. "Pure as the driven snow", "Black heart", "Green with envy", "Red neck", We are also taught that the closer to purity something is, the less color it has. Water is an example. Even if we are not taught to apply these things to people, the connections are made through the subconsciousness, and social reinforcement.

Because you wallow in your own self pity? Or did you mean skin color?

If you mean skin color, it's not greater problems. Everyone has the same problems. It's how you overcome them that's the difference.
