I am the center of the universe (or so I wish to believe). Where are you and I will calculate the distance for you.

Simply put you could work out how far away the centre of the universe is by following these few steps.
1. Whats the furthest that we can see in the Universe.
2. Whats our position in the Universe not just in the Milky Way.
3. Then take the distance between these two measurements and half it.
That should give you a rough idea of were the centre of the Universe is.
1. The furthest that we can see in the universe is about 13 billion Light Years,, the closest Star to our is 4.7 light years away the closest galaxy to our own the Andromeda Galaxy is 2.5 million light years away.
2. So our position in the Universe is not known at present, it may never be known.
3. If you half 13 billion light years you get 6.5 billion light years.
4. If you half the distance from us to the Andromeda Galaxy you get 1 and a quarter million light years away.
If you take the average distance between all these measurements you get 3.5 million light years which is the closest you can get to the centre of the Universe.
I hope that this answers your question?

the universe is expanding, so it hasn't got any center. ok, you may say that the center of the universe is the place where big bang occured, but you will contradict the big bang theory, that sustains that there was nothing before it ; time and space began that very moment. let's try and think what th universe means. take a deep breath and then give the air out of your lungs. before doing this, you stopped 4 a moment, and then u gave the air out of ur lungs. imagine that the first second in which u did that air thing is BIG BANG. u created ur own universe, and it's expanding with every atom u breathe out. what is the centre of the universe u created now?does it have any center?i guess it doesn't. of course, it all depends on our point of view about what center means. i guess that by center u mean the place around which everything gravitates. there's nothing atracting our universe. actually, there's is a force that pushes it. but it comes along galaxies, and there are loads of points in the universe where this force is exercited. there's no main point. hope i made things a bit clearer 4 u...

Relative to the Virgo Supercluster the Milky Way is travelling about 60 degrees south (Centaurus) at 372.9 miles per second.
The Virgo Supercluster is travelling about 15 degrees south (Virgo) at around 283 miles per second.
If the Universe is 14.5 billion years old we have travelled a little under 80 million light years from a point to the north among the constellations of Cassiopeia. Assuming straight line trajectory.

No one has found it yet, so we might as well assume it's right here. That makes a lot of calculations more difficult than they need to be, so let's move it to the center of our galaxy. If it can be shown that the Milky way orbits some point, then we have to move our center again. Unfortunately, the center of the observable universe is always the observer, so it gets harder and harder to determint a true center.

13.7 billion yrs ago, where was`nt big bang, but an expansion of space. Its my understanding, time + the 4 forces(gravitational, strong, weak, electromagnetic forces) are travelling in same direction. At the1st stage when matter formed (300 000 yrs after the big bang) is about a 100 billion light yrs. I an`t a scientist,if olny.

The center of the universe is in the 4th dimension - we only live in 3 dimensions. As far as we are concerned, the center of the universe IS the universe.

The centre of the universe is the Tesco hypermarket just outside Milton Keynes.
It is to the people who live in Milton Keynes, anyway.

Just remember that you're standing on a planet that's evolving
and revolving at 900 miles an hour,
It's orbiting at 19 miles a second, so it's reckoned,
the sun that is the source of all our power.
The Sun and you and me, and all the stars that we can see,
are moving at a million miles a day,
In the outer spiral arm, at 40,000 miles an hour,
of the Galaxy we call the Milky Way.
Our Galaxy itself contains 100 billion stars,
it's 100,000 light-years side-to-side,
It bulges in the middle, 16 000 light-years thick,
but out by us it's just 3 000 light-years wide.
We're 30,000 light-years from galactic central point,
we go round every 200 million years,
And our galaxy is only one of millions of billions
in this amazing and expanding universe.
The universe itself keeps on expanding and expanding,
in all of the directions it can whizz,
As fast as it can go, at the speed of light you know,
twelve million miles a minute, and that's the fastest speed there is.
So remember, when you're feeling very small and insecure,
how amazingly unlikely is your birth,
Pray that there's intelligent life somewhere up in space,
because there's bugger all down here on Earth.
