Hello, Im a 23/f and im kind of concerned about my sleeping habbits.

Lately, I have been sleeping a rediculous amounts of hours, there was one time ive slept for 15 hours... and when I woke up I had a huge headache (which is from dehydration I think) but I was still dead tired and couldn't stay up for more then 2 hours.

Its still an ongoing thing a month later. Like for example, yesterday I slept from 10am - to 10pm and I was absolutely dead when I woke up, but I forced myself up because I had some things to do, like cleaning, etc.

I know low iron could be a cause of this but what other factors? I work a full-time job and my schedule shifts arent steady, but I was always able to work around it when I first started... now it seems like all I do is sleep, amd go to work. Its a battle to get out of bed.. just to go to the bathroom because I don't have the energy.

I could not be getting all the vitamins I need, but Im a very fussy eater.. and this was never a problem before...

My friend suggested vitamin pills, but they have side effects which im kinda nervous about. I don't see why I should have to take vitamins to get out of bed... im not that old.

I don't have any kids, and even though I work full-time its not really... "full time" I usually get 2-4 days off so thats more then enough time to get rested up for the next day.

But like I said, I can't really stay up for more then 2 hours without fighting to stay away even after a 12hr+ sleep...

any suggestions?

For one that can be a sign on many things. One mono can make u sleep alot, also depression will make u sleep alot as well as anemia, and diabetics. You should try the vitamins, maybe even kids vitamins if you are nervous about taking adult ones. Or even try stress vitamins, try half of one for a few weeks and see how you do and if good increase. But u should have your blood drawn for those other reasons.

If you are working irregular shifts, including night shifts, this could upset your sleeping habits and your circadian rhythms. Some people are severely affected by work schedules that are not steady: it appears you might be one of those people.

In addition, having a reason to get out of bed gives you an impetus to be active, which in turn injects you with energy. If you have no activities planned for your days off, you are most likely to spend those days in bed. Over-sleeping can make one extremely lethargic and ironically, more tired.

I recommend you try making plans for your days off. For instance, plan to wake up and do some exercise - perhaps take a walk. You can then continue engage yourself in other activities of your choice. Keeping physically active, planning activities, eating well, checking your iron levels, will help you be alert and vibrant. If those do not help, you might have to consider a job with a steady schedule.

definite, it is totally straight forward for pregnant women folk to experience sleepy and, in the experience that they are in a position, to sleep plenty. it is rather real early on, interior the first trimester. maximum women folk experience more suitable alert interior the 2d trimester. some experience sleepy back interior the 0.33. then back, that is going to be no longer something like 18 hours an afternoon. That a lot would probably be reason for situation. i'd say that i'd get about 8 or 9 hours an nighttime and then round 3 PM would want a nap of 30-ninety minutes.

What kind of "side effects" do you have from vitamins? Aside from vitamins, possibly iron tablets, and drinking lots of water (which are the main quick fixes) have you considered the possibility that maybe you're depressed. If you're trying all of these things, I would consult a doctor.

Don't worry. Your problem is not that serious. I always sleep more than 12hrs when i dont have school or work the next day. My best record is 27hrs straight after i got off from a plane. My family thought i was dead LOL

Vitamins shouldn't have side effects, and I would go see a doctor just to make sure everything is medically alright.

Lots of young women need vitamins and are anemic. See your doctor for a blood test.
