My girlfriend is in a bad way, and I tried to be supportive. Yet every time she made a plan to better her situation, it involves me giving up my school and my future to play babysitter. I refused, but I did offer to help as much as I could. She didn't like my answer and told me to **** off and don't call her again. Was I right to put myself first? Or should I have totally backed her up?

We've been going out for about 8 months. None of her children are mine. The father won't have anything to do with one of the kids. My girlfriend has been pushing for us to move in together, but I'm just not ready to do that yet. Before we get to that point I want for her to be stand alone finacially.

More information is needed here.
About the relationship between you, about what the plans were, etc.
And whether the children involved are yours.
Can't advise without more info.
