Well that's funny, because unlike every other situation out there, a child can not exist without a mother, so no, a child doesn't get more rights than the mother. Equal rights? Sure, go grow in your father...there's your equal rights.

No, equal rights, because the fetus is a human being just like its mother, albeit not fully developed, but still fully human nonetheless.
There is no way possible to justify killing another human being, period.

I have always thought it was strange that a doctor can kill a baby but the Mother cannot. For instance, if a young person somehow figures out a way to abort the baby and it is born alive and then dies, then she can be arrested for murder. A doctor aborts a baby and it is born alive and they either kill it on the spot or let it die. The doctor is not liable. I sure would like for someone to figure that one out.
