I didn't have coffee this morning, but got one at lunch and I seem to be in a better mood. Could it be because of the caffeine?

I don't drink lots, usually just a cup a day. Some days I don't have a chance to get it. Today I felt particularly down until I had it. I don't think I'd be addicted from a cup a day.

Caffeine definitely effects mood. It may temprorarily change your mood to a positive one and then later make you feel irritable, when your blood sugar crashes. That's part of what makes its so addictive, not only does it give temporary bursts of energy, but it makes us want more later.

Depends on how addicted a person is to it. And since there is such a thing as caffeine withdrawal, and I've been through it after only having one regular coffee per morning, then I think that this could explain it.
But if you're not a regular drinked, then this is null and void. :-)

Yes, it is because of the caffeine, make sure you have them daily, and im not sure if this is confirmed but it is said that , females that drink lots coffee, has lower chances of getting breast cancer a research showed. Well dont drink too much otherwise you get dependant on it. By "Lots" i mean drink it on regular or daily basis,

My aunt says it does. She said that if she drinks any coffee in the morning, she is shaking until noon. Let me remind you, it is a drug. Caffeine does do things to your body. Just because we have it in everyday life, doesn't make it safe.

If you are accustomed to a coffee, then your body will expect it and reward you for keeping in routine. Caffeine doesn't do much for me, I find I get a lot more irritable!

I think your blood sugar may have been low and the coffee spiked it up. The food that really helps raise your mood is pasta and bananas.

It doesn't do anything for me, unless I've drunk a whole pot of coffee. Then I get a headache.
