I heard this quotation somewhere some time ago. It is probably not exact. Anyone able to help correct and cite it?

No, the quote is correct. Might be "just ain't so"

It is usually attributed to Will Rogers, the comedian from the 1920s. Although it is possible he stole it from Mark Twain.
