Uh, I'm a female, and I'm better at math than most guys. Of course, I'm also better at "girl" subjects like English too. I don't think it has much to do with your gender. Girls just like to use the idea that girls are bad at math as an excuse to not even try.

That is an interesting question. Studies have shown that when young girls who display an interest in science and math have that interest cultivated, they score just as well as males on tests in later grades.
I think the biggest problem is self-fulfilling prophecy. Too many young women are told that they shouldn't be interested in math and science, or develop the idea that "I'm not good at science" and so don't take math and science classes.
The brain is like any other muscle. If you don't exercise it, it won't work well.... If you study math and science, you will learn math and science. It just takes being willing to do the hard work.

All you should do is learn extra and commit extra attempt to homework. once you examine, imagine demanding about what you're interpreting, do not merely skim because you're sensible sufficient that you may. once you do math, take a at the same time as to honestly understand issues, do not do exactly it the way the textbook says to without honestly expertise what you're doing. With languages and technology make effective you already know each and every thing and then commit some thing else of a at the same time as to memorization of information and ideas. With English make effective you commit mind ability to what you're doing (a lot of it) and make effective you actually seem for deeper meaning. English instructors continuously love that type of component. once you write attempt to placed some type of feeling in, do not merely keep on with the astounding format and all that. in case you do all that you should get instantly A's. notwithstanding, you're already an honor pupil, make effective you keep your friends and social existence, that's punctiliously the better area of faculty.

The head of my Math Department in Highschool and I talked about this. And her personal opinion is the upbringing of the child. Males tend to play with toys that involve space / shape relationships (Lego, Blocks, etc) This trains the brain from a young age on spacial relationships and teaches logical thought process.
While women tend to play with much more social toys (Dolls, Tea Parties etc) which is why Women are normally much more socially mature than men, and they tend to do better in social settings.
While both of these are extreme's it could be one reason.

You don't want to try.
Women and men can do almost anything they put their minds to it.
If you start off thinking you can't do it.
You already failed.
