The pass is presently closed to travellers because of unrest on the Afghan side. I have heard that with some cash you can obtain a special permit in Peshawar but they will require you to hire body guards to escort you. It would be expensive and probably pretty sketchy...The rest of Pakistan is fine...went to Lahore last year and loved it.....
