i don't agree that all religion is flawed...and you can't really place religion and the big bang theory in the same catagory. the big bang theory is scientific, it has nothing to do with religion. i personally am a creationist. I believe in intellegint design (even though i can't spell it :D) and i believe that some things are infinite like the universe, i don't believe that the universe has an end. and i think that the big bang theory is completely flawed. There is no proof of it. and their so called "proof" just gets older and older. there is an alligator in a museum in australia that when i went the first time, it was only 100,000 years old. The next time i went it was 1,000,000 years old. I didn't realize that it had been so long since i had been to australia! my point is that evolutionists are always having to change their theories to make them work. and most times they fail.

Who knows which religions and which theories are flawed. They are all conceived in the human mind. Over time there is enough evidence to prove or disprove that certain religious and theoretical concepts are wrong (like the flat earth theory was proved wrong by Magellan's voyage around the world). The verdict is still out for people pondering whether the universe is finite or infinite.

As I usually say, everything depends on your belief systems. And I'm still trying to research how to build belief formation diagrams that accurately model the contents of individual craniums....but, then I digress!
Actually, I don't think the past is infinite...there was a beginning to the known universe or this particular instantiation of the multiverse. And I find it mathematically elegant to imagine it to result from a 'singularity'. Big Bang, whatever caused it, is a neat way of "explaining" my presence in this universe. The real frustration for me and my angst arises from the inherent unknowability of these matters. Which brings me to ...
Religion - it's like the multitudinous masses have given up on the Quest and decided to call everything unknowable into a cubbyhole called God. This soothes the anxieties and allows humans to contemplate their lives with a certain quiet dignity.
But, for me, it is a valiant goal to continue to live life purposefully when everything around me screams RANDOM CHANCE and each human is a particle of a brownian movement (no pun on my culture here). It's all exquisitely nihilistic and if you are interested in the intellectual masturbation, above, do write to me.

Uh, no.
Religion is flawed (as a scientific/historical device) because it relies on a text written by desert nomads to tell us about things they knew nothing about.
The big bang theory is not so much flawed as incomplete. We don't know all the details back to time zero.
Everything is infinite is not a very precise statement, but if you mean it the way I think you do, it is probably false. The space in the universe is not infinite. Evidence leads us to believe that at one point it was very, very small. Maybe even as small as a point singularity.

Incorrect. A religion is based upon faith and faith is a belief that even if facts prove otherwise will not cause the believer to stop believing it.
The big bang is a theory and a theory is a speculation based upon what is observed, but can be changed if facts prove the theory to be false.
One never changes based upon facts presented (religion); the other is changeable if facts prove that it is incorrect. This is why the big bang is a theory and not a fact.

What do you mean "as everything is infinite"? Where do you get this assurance?
You need to prove this first.
And until you do, I will only agree that all religions are flawed, but that the big bang theory holds until disproven.
Your move.

Religion is based on unprovable principles so it would appear to be flawed if you want to get to the ultimate truth. The Big Bang is a testable theory open to scientific examination and it appears to be the best theory so far.

Yes. However how can you explain infinite. There was always a beginning but when is there an end. There has to be an end if theres a beginning. i would like to believe something magical created the universe or death and the after life will be extremly boring.

Good question.
All of science is actually theories. to say that we are related to chimps is only a theory, just as saying that cats and dogs are both mammals.
Now, Religion is another thing. I believe it all could have been true stories that got retold and changed and retold and changed until they became something else.
However, I dont fully understand your question.

Yes. Ah, but because we, as human beings, are infinitely curious (or at least some of us) about the beginnings of things it makes for great philosophical discussion either way. I hate when that kind of conversation becomes a mud sling though.
