my sister and dad says i am addicted to anime but i think they do not want me to have anime as a hobby because they dont like it. they also think that my grades will fall. but i just got my report card and it was a 4.0 p.s i only want anime shows on the weekend.

A person can be addicted to anything pretty much. An addiction is excessive use and a NEED for it. Just because you enjoy it and want to enjoy it to relax on weekends does not make you an addict. If it is disrupting your normal daily life then I would look at it being a problem. It may be because they do not like it. They may be just having a dig at you and joking around because you enjoy it so much and they don't. If you are still studying and keeping up with your school assignments I highly doubt it is going to be a problem Everyone needs to relax sometime and a healthy hobby/interest is not a bad thing.

I knew several persons who were addicted to anime, manga and similar.
You could be addicted and the best way to identify if you are is:
Do a list which will have 2 columns, the first column will have all the things you used to do before you discovered anime, also will have the grades you got before and the social relationships you used to have. The second column will have the updated values for all the things you wrote in the first column.
After that you could see if you're really addicted to anime.

as with any jealousy, people will say its an addiction. As long as it is not an addiction {where you cannot stop for any length of time} it is a passion, a ND passion is a good thing.

you jusst like it alo, but you always have to still consentrate on what you have to do or whats more important first.
