Amazing I found this question but I did!
I don't remember where I found those statistics. I found it about 6 years ago when I was diagnosed with DID and read as many books and articles as I could on the subject. I found that statistic in one article and one book.
Most people are unaware of their disorder until well into their adulthood.

I saw in your addad details in your other question you stated that people with DID are not in control of who surfaces and when. That is not entirely true. Many people with DID have learned to control the switching.

On that same post when you asked the question. Go to the pencil icon on the tool bar to 'Add more details' and put your above statement in. zaylady is more likely to see this comment on the original post if she goes back to see what's going on with the thread.
