The lack of confidence and arrogance? Less twinkle and smirk? In spite of his rather intelligent support of education, health care and alternative energy, there was less of the smirking George we're used to?
Just wondering if you noticed that?
(I'm quite experienced at public speaking and reading faces. It was rather obvious.)

Thank you, respondants for the "reality check!" People can say what they want, but as with all the Republican scandals prior to the mid-terms ~ perception is everything.

Yes I did. That fine layer of "hubris" was missing and what's up with Cheney...can he crack a smile or will his face implode....

I did notice that. I also noticed how Dick Cheney kept smiling behind the president when he would say certain things. It what almost like he knows things we don't. It was sort of like when someone is in on a joke. I wanted to ask, "Why are you smiling, Cheney?"

Yes, I noticed it, also. The President has very telling body language and facial expressions that reflect his comfort level.

that's funny because everyone that was on with the lefts favorite "political analyst" show Keith Olberman said that he was very confident. and they actually blasted him for saying they couldnt believe he could look that confident in the fact that he is despised. I guess its true that you see what you want to see if you dont know what you really are seeing

Of course, the man is drowning in a sea of hypocrisy and incompetence. I just hope he doesn't do anything crazy while Cheney or Rove is asleep.

Sure that was obvious but what was even more obvious was when they panned to John McCain and he was sitting there asleep.

The man is beaten by the media DAILY;
He gets NO support from Democrats during a STATE OF WAR;
His approval ratings are very low;
He gets NO credit for economic success;
The war in Iraq is not going well;
He gets NO credit for the things that DO go well.
I WONDER WHY he did not look confident!
Genius.

Oddly enough, I listened to the SUBSTANCE of what he said.
I actually heard it on the radio.
Some people's political views are based on policies; those of others are based on body language, I suppose . . .
