How could you hate Sasuke? I mean he wants to AVENGE his FAMILY? Its not like he's doing anything selfish, he wants to get revenge against his brother, who killed his family. How can you hate Sasuke because of that. And I don't mean to sound nasty, I just want to know your opinions...

Okay, sure, avenging his family is the best thing to do...
But it's just the way he goes about it is all wrong.
He wants to achieve the power to do so and will not stop at anything -- this kind of makes him seem arrogant, he doesn't care about anything.
I mean come on, he's okay with being the next container for the Evil Orochimaru...
He is willing to betray his Friends, and in Naruto pt.2 he clearly has no friendship with them at all, they don't matter to him at all.
This makes him seem selfish.
Thats my view

I personally like the character of Sasuke, because he creates a nice balance with Naruto. However, I could see why people don't like Sasuke. He's almost as bad as his brother--siding with Orochimaru to seek his revenge. He was even willing to kill his best (and only) friend to enhance the Sharingan! (Now, at least he didn't go through with it like his brother...)
He's actually being very selfish. When the village was still reeling over the death of the Third and needed all of their best ninjas, Sasuke ran away for his own personal motives. Then a search party had to be sent out--which put several of his peers close to death and was wasting the village's resources.
But, hey, I like the character, but I don't like the moves he has made...my sis HATES Sasuke because she says the author focuses too much on Sasuke when the manga is called Naruto. Well, we all are entitled to our opinion, right? :)

It's probably people who feel more identified with Naruto. And since Naruto and Sasuke are rivals, it's natural to hate the rival of the person you feel identified with.
Perhaps the reason is not up to those people's standards, Naruto only wants to prove the world he can be a great ninja, which is selfish, but a powerful motivator nonetheless. Sasuke's revenge-driven way might be too much for some people.
There are other characters with different motives, but they are also about revenge, or a bit about selfishness, just to prove they are good. Naruto and Sasuke are the main ones, I personally like revenge better as a goal and drive.

what kind of freak leaves his village for some evil child molester! seriously! I know he wants to kill Itachi but now that he's with Orochimaru he'll lose his body before he ever gets to kill Itachi. That's why I'm really mad at him. He really should have thought it through before leaving. The only thing that convinced him was getting beat be the sound 4 i mean COME ON. Lee coulda kicked his *** if he wasn't injured. There are other ways of getting stronger. I think he is too quick to judge and should think things through a bit more. He is also ungrateful. Sakura and Naruto were his friends, they defended him, cried for him, were kind to him, and what does he do??? He leaves without any remorse. That's retarted. he needs a reality check. I hope Naruto at leasts gets to tell him what will happen if he doesn't leave.

ok, for starters i do no longer hate Sasuke, I strongly dislike him. it is MY opinion. Its a loose u . s . a ., so i do no longer opt to study no nasty comments that Sasuke followers submit up. right this is my answer(s): a million. He killed Itachi (one in all my fav characters), whilst Itachi became actual solid. 2. He left the village, went to a snake freak like Orochimaru, and intensely almost killed Naruto. 3. he's desperate out to wipe out the Leaf Village, yet that has replaced: (in case you haven't any longer study Naruto manga financial disaster 453, do no longer remark) he's going to the assembly of the 5 kages, to kill them. Danzou is gonna be there, so i'm hoping HE dies, however the different solid kages and GAARA are gonna be there additionally! 4. He joined Akatsuki area time. 5. He tried to seize Killerbee. 6. he's a teme. 7. He purely. won't. DIE! i'm no longer asking every person right here to consider me. i'm purely stating my own opinion.

I dont hate Sasuke, everyone has their own path in the story so i guess Sasuke has his own ambition and path. Look at Naruto, he got Jiraiya to teach him cool jutsus and within few weeks, he has greatly enhanced his skill and can even summon gamabunta and who would teach Sasuke that if he didnt seek Orochimaru for power? Yes, he may be risking his life seeking Orochimaru as sensei as all Oro wants is his body but that's only choice to achieve great jutsu ability. He (sasuke) knew he wont be able to master any great jutsu if he still staying in Konoha because Kakashi would be an obstacle to him, Kakashi will not teach him any cool jutsu just for him to seek revenge.

I don't hate sasuke because he wants to kill Itachi. I personally believe Itachi needs to die a slow painful death. The reason i hate sasuke is simple, he's a traitor. He betrayed his comrades to go join Orochimaru for the sake of power. Six of his former countrymen risked their lives to get him back from the clutches of Orochimaru, and he basically said screw you guys. That is why i hate sasuke, and he can never be redeemed in my opinion.

It's not the fact that heis trying to avenge his family that i hate him, it the fact the he's such a whiny little prick who always has that lame stereotypicial tough guy act. Besides the whole cured mark turns out gay since his "ultimate form" is black lipstick and finger wings.
