Nope. Target is actually one of the USA's most philanthropic companies, and its headquarters is in Minneapolis. The largest shareholder is the Dayton family (Target Corporation used to be called Dayton-Hudson Corporation).

This whole hoax came about by one guy who was angry that his local Target wouldn't give money to support his Vietanam War memorial, and that's not how Target gives out donations. You have to contact the main office and fill out a form, and this guy didn't want to do that. Instead he slandered a very reputable company.

The largest shareholders in Target corp. are the Dayton family of Minnesota. In fact Mark Dayton was formerly the Senator of minnesota.

No, that is not true. It is based in Minnesota. Although they are picky about who they donate money to, they do support military organizations. They even have Toys for Tots (A U.S. Marine program) in their stores each Holiday Season.

No, my friend actually wrote to Target to ask them if the rumor was true and they denied it. In fact, they sent her an article written about Target showing their compassion in donating to the troops.

False.

That is totally false. By the way, lots of French citizens are sympathetic to the citizens of the US and our troops. They believe that it is our leadership that is in question.
