You must speak to an attorney in your area. The debts that he created that are obviously his - like if he bought a motor cross bike or some other non familial item could be removed from your accountability. However items like home appliances, furnishings and home repairs may still be charged to you as you directly benefit from them. You should also consider the option of selling his things to pay the debt - again I urge you speak to an attorney about your rights and what you can and cannot discharge.

Whether or not someone is liable for his/her spouse's debt depends on the nature of the debt; and how it was incurred. Different states treat different debts differently. But one thing is true in all states: Such "notices" are of no value.

Place an ad in the newspaper, for starters. You can send each debtor a notarized signed copy of a typed notice with your signature by Certified mail. If all else fail secure an attorney and sue the daylights out of them!

you must divorce him to do that. And even after that, you may still be liable for "Debt aquired during marriage"

I believe, in most states, you can't. Even if you are divorced. He could file bankruptcy, and you would have to pay off his debts.
Consult a lawyer to be sure.
Good luck.
