Population I stars are the youngest and include stars like our sun; they have relatively high metal content for a star. Pop II stars are older with less metal. If you page down in the site, it will explain the difference and show a map of where they are in the Milky Way

Eugene N is right.

The way you can remember the general position of the two is to remember that if you travelled to another galaxy like ours the first stars you would get to (in the disk) would be Population I. The others (generally in the central parts, you would encounter 2nd, and these are Population II.
