I would like to know what the requirements are to teach in a NY private school? Is certification required?

most private schools DO NOT require state or city certification, some will allow you to teach while you are working towards them...it depends on the type of private school you apply to...there are some very high end private prep schools that require you to almost have a doctorate in your subject area, some schools (usually the religious ones) will hire you as long as you graduated from a 4 yr school with a degree in education...start subbing beforeyou apply to any schools because most will not hire you with just student teaching experience...good luck!
