How do I get my ipod to turn off?

It used to turn off just fine but for the last couple days, it won't shut off, it just keeps playing. What the F????

I think that you need to reset the Ipod: first, check to see if the hold is on. If it isnt, then turn hold on/off, and press and hold the menu and select buttons for 6-10 seconds (this is for Ipod Photos, New Minis, and Videos.
