It might not be as big of a problem as some people are making it out it be. When you plug your iPod in, just check it's settings. You know, how when you plug it in, it show's your iPod's "name" under "devices?" Click on that and go under "music" at the top. See if the box "Sync Music" is checked. If that doesn't work, go back to your library. Click "File" and under it it should say "Sync *iPod Name*." Click on that and all of your music should transfer. Good luck!

With apple ipods there can be a syntax and or technical error with usb connection. With this I would sugest trying to reset your ipod and then connecting it again. Also if there is anyway to restore the original setting on your ipod, like when you do connect it if a screen appears it may ask you if you want to restore original setting, which may help. If this problem further continues try calling apple technical support.

For connecting with new songs the same solution may help as it did with my ipod.

Sounds like you accidentally checked the "Manually manage music and videos" option in your ipod device. Click on the Music tab and click on Sync music and click All songs and playlists.
