What you need: Whelping box. Basically a quite corner or place a dog will give birth. Lay down a blanket in a box or a pen big enough for yoir dog to get up and walk around. A few days before delivery a milky fluid may seep from her nipples. Whe delivery time is near( within 24-hours) she will pace, pant, and loose her appetite, amd her temp. may dropfrom 102 degrees feriheint to 99 degrees. Milk may appear st her nipples and a straw-colored may seep from her vulva. Once in labor the first puppy may emerge within 3 hours. Hope your puppies turn out healthy.

Your OB/gyn will examine you at your 6 week check up, and if you have been given a clean bill of health then you can resume your normal activities. You really shouldn't even take tub baths until after your 6 week check up.

Unless you had stitches or staples and are comfortable with swimming. I wouldn't see why you would have to wait. If you had a c-section your doctor might suggest waiting to prevent an infection.

When you are ready. Unless you have stitches then wait til they are out. The chlorine or salt water could irritate them. Good Luck!!!
