Nope. There's no border patrol on state lines.
You can pack up as much as you can fit in your car.
I've known of people who've done it because the taxes on the next state over were less, or bought them from a reservation that didn't have to pay the US and the state taxes on tobacco products.

Like it has been answeed I believe it is a tax issue and the limit is 10 cartons, but at the LA. Tx. border there is no one checking so 5 cartons is fine. 20 maybe not.

To bring cigarettes into the country there is a limit of one carton.
I think that's all you can transport between states also.

I don't know for sure but just watched a special about this on CNN. They can get you for money laundering if you buy mass quantities and resale them in another state. If your just smoking them it should be fine.

Yeah it is. if its more then three then yes. i think cigarettes should be illegal point blank! Cigs are not healthy for what so ever!
