How to know if a feminine girl is a lesbian? Usually it is easy to find out that a butch likes girls, but how about a feminine girl, whom is gentle and keeps long hair? how to find out that she likes girls as well?

You ask her. Anything else is just rumor, speculation, or assumption. And you know what happens when you ASSUME . . .

Do you want to know because you like her and you're wanting to know what might be considered a green light to ask her out?
That's a tough one. Like everyone else says unless she tells you or you ask her there is no way to know for sure.
I would also ask a series of questions like what's your favorite movie and why. If she picks something with a lot of hetero sex then she's probably not gay. If she says something like Fire (Indian lesbian story, very good movie) or Bound or Everythings Relative, It's in the Water, Clare de Lune, Night is Falling, But I'm a Cheerleader, Better than Chocolate, Bar girls, Tipping the Velvet, that's all the movies I can come up with for now. If she mentions any one of those then that is definitely a good sign.
But if she mentions anything with Brad Pitt or George Clooney or some young popular male actor then things obviously don't look so good. Find out what her favorite reading material is. If it's books find out which ones and what they are about.
Basically just get to know her as a person and a real friend cause if she is gay things will find a way to take their proper course anyway.
good luck.

The answers are "Yes", "it depends." I'm bi and feminine, and I like all kinds of girls. Tomboys, butch, and femme, they all have the same "girlness" about them that drives me nuts. Even a very lean and slender woman has a much different "feel" than a man does. And they smell, nice, too! I've known a few other bi and lesbian women, and you couldn't predict what attracted them by their own appearance. Some butch girls prefer other tomboys, while others are more attracted to girly-girls. You just have to find out.

Well, my gf at the time. I had no CLUE what so ever that she was a lesbian until she told me and I was shocked but happy because she is all fem and even the guys try to get with her but she is strictly lesbian. Anyways, after she told me I kind of put it together because she kept on talking about a lot of women all the time and would never talk of or look at guys.

why would one want to know unless one is looking for a similiar partner?
sometimes its better to be left as it is and if its to be known, she will make the move?

there's no way to 'tell' unless she tells you. i'm a femme queer girl, and if i care for someone to know, i will tell them (either bluntly or by mentioning my wife or ex-girlfriends). otherwise, it's not their business. it sucks that they assume i'm straight, but really that's their problem, not mine.

if you start staring at them they stare back and don't look away for a long time and maybe smile at you.
