My husband and I are trying to conceive. Both of us are healthy, we don't drink, or smoke. My entire family has a history of being very fertile.
We've been having sex regularly and I've been trying my best to count my ovulation days. Still though, we should at least be hitting them with how often we have sex. I'm also making sure to lie in the missionary position for awhile afterwards.
It's so hard to stay patient when we both want it to happen so badly, but we're making sure that we're having sex because we want to and not because we have to.
My question, how long should I expect this to take? For all of my family members it took around two months or less.

There's really no way to know how long it might take. Just don't stress about it that can make it harder to get pregnant. And don't forget that getting pregnant is supposed to be fun! Just make love with you husband it will happen when it supposed to! Good Luck

Like the others said it is different for everyone, I have been trying for 11 months now and my friend only had to try 2 months.
But what I have read is it isn't considered a red flag or that a doctor will be to concerned until after a year of trying and then they say it will more likely happen with in the next year.
I know it isn't pleasant to keep getting disappointed every month, but I wish you all the best.

Relax, and take your prenantal vitamins starting right now. They help get you ready and you'll have the good folic acid in your system from the get go. Take them with a full meal that contains fat for proper absorption of the vitamins and least stomach irritation.
I was in the same boat. Fertile, ready, healthy, anxious. I had a very stressful job. Quit the job. I found swimming really mellowed me out, made me relax and within 2 months we were pregnant.
There are over the counter ovulation kits that will let you know if you are indeed ovulating. Invest in one, read the directions very carefully and take good notes to track symptoms.
Best of luck to you!!

Sorry, there's no definite answer to that. Have you read "Taking Charge of Your Fertility" by Toni Weschler? It's awesome! You'll understand in more detail how your cycle works and how to best time your intercourse.
Family history doesn't necessarily mean anything as far as how fertile you are. My sister got pregnant on her first month after going off the pill and I took 3 years to get pregnant!
If you're under 35, give it 6 months to a year, and if you're still unsuccessful, ask your ob/gyn to refer you to a fertility specialist. If you're over 35, ask for a referral anytime (they say your chances decrease dramatically after 35, so don't waste any time).
Good luck!

It takes an average of 3 to 6 months for a reporductively healthy couple to get pregnant, but family history can definatly play a part in how long it takes.
