My husband and I are going to start trying to conceive. Is there anyone here that got pregnant right after getting off of the pill? I know that you're supposed to wait a few months to allow you're body to regulate cycles, but is there any medical reason for this? I was also reading that a woman can ovulate more than once in a cycle, and that when you stop taking bcp, your body goes into overdrive and makes more eggs. Is this true?

No that is not true. It can take a few months for your body to re-cycle it self and start actually ovulating and actually dropping eggs. Try not to stress your self. This can affect your ovulation. One suggestion I have is buy an at home ovulation kit from the grocery store or drug store this can help you to concieve quicker also. Also taking to your OB/GYN can help also.

You can start trying right away, but it may take a while for the birth control to completely clear your system. It took me 4 months for it to clear out of my system, then another 2 months before I got pregnant. I am now 11 weeks pregnant. Everyone is different. If you get pregnant right after, that means it took less time for your body to regulate. It won't cause any problems with your baby. My cousin's fiance got pregnant while on the depo shot and her baby is very healthy. I've never heard about your body making extra eggs after going off birth control. I think that's just a myth. Good Luck!!!

I took my last pill on July 25 and I conceived on either August 9 or 10. I had a healthy full term pregnancy and a beautiful healthy baby girl in May the following year.

I was on bc pills for 8 years before I stopped to try to get pregnant. It took me 14 mos. to get pregnant with my first baby. I started the pills again for a year and a half stopped got pregnant immediatley with my second and the same with my 3rd baby. I don't think it can cause harm to baby or you to get pregnant immediatly after stopping the pill. I've never heard of that.
