It really depends how serious the betrayal.
If it concerns your reputation, your morals, your family, your boyfriend, secrets, then I would have to say good bye.
If it a selfish ploy to get attention or they have acted on impulse without thinking, I would give them hell and tell them that was their first strike.
Sweat the big stuff not the small stuff.
True friends are hard to find and keep.
Be careful, get all the details, then make your decision.

It just happened to me and right now I believe I am still in a state of shock and disbelief that she could even do this to me. We have been friends 4-5 years short of 62 years!! When she said what she said, I immediately began crying, told her "I can't believe YOU can be so cruel, you just crossed the line, I can't talk to you anymore". I then hung-up on her. There has been NO contact attempted by either of us since!!!! This is right at a time when I need her the most, and she knows that. STILL DAZED AND CONFUSED!!!

It was my second year of college. My roommate made it with my boyfriend when I was out of town. Felt like I'd been hit in the gut. Never trusted her again and it ruined my relationship with him. In fact, it began a trust problem that has been with me, at some level, ever since. Back then, I blamed her more than him. Today, I would consider both equally wrong.

I think you have to define betrayal. to your self. . It is impossible to give an answer as you definition of Betrayal may be different than mine. For me I would need a very good explanation, and is it part of a pattern and make my own judgement

You'll just learn who to trust and not trust...and you'll learn to reshuffle your friends circle...your inner circle and outer circle of friends...I'm not telling you to completely cut this person off for good but you just gotta know where to keep them don't involve them in any intimate details cause they can use that against you.

me? I shut them out and close them off from me. Best way to make yourself less miserable is to throw it back at them.

I wouldnt be friends with them again...and if you still are, dont trust them. If they hurt you once they will again. Remember: Fool me once dont fool me twice
