i think that you need a new doctor if your doctor is refusing you of care... if you already have your proof of insurance, there is no way the doctors can turn you away.... as far as being to late for care... it is never too late however you may have missed some testes that needed to be done at a certain amount of weeks.... good luck.... oh and your insurance card should arrived at before a month or the latest a month, you might want to check back with the people issuing your card.... check back for wrong address, etc.

A lot of people do not have their first prenatal visit until 8 weeks, but regardless, I would want to be seen as well. Maybe you should look at seeing a different doctor. If you are covered with insurance, it really doesn't matter whether or not you have your card. I work in a doctor's office, they are nice to have, but not necessary. As long as you have insurance, they can look you up on your insurance through the Internet or the phone. You can call your insurance and get your claim number and group number. That is all a doctor's office really needs in order to get paid. So you could always try a different doctor, or go to a pregnancy care center until you do get your cards. They are free, and they are not income based.

AS long as you are taking some over the counter prenatal vitamins you should be ok. When you spoke to your dr's office did you express your concerns? THey verify insurance over the web anyway. I had the same problem at one time, my insurance had just kicked in and I hadn't received the cards yet. I called the company and got the group number, policy number, contact info and all the pertnant info and they took it. Try calling again. Or see if maybe you can go in and talk to the office manager...maybe you could get the company on the phone with that person. I hope that you have some luck with it. But don't worry. Just take some over the counter vits and you should be good until you can get in. Good luck.

I didn't go to the doctor for the first time until I was like 13 weeks along. It's not that big of a deal. All they're going to do is check your due date and prescribe prenatal vitamins. I just bought over-the-counter vitamins until I went to the doctor. Since you're only 10 weeks along I think you're worrying too much. Calm down. The stress is not good for the baby. BTW, you can go to the doctor without your insurance card. Just find out what your number is.

It is weird that your Dr will not accept the print out you have, maybe you should consider finding one that will.
Also, don't panic about how far along you are without seeing a doctor! That is just adding stress to your life and you do not need that! If your insurance card hasn't gotten here in another week I would try and find a new doctor and I would really start calling the insurance people everyday!
Hope everything works out. Good Luck and Congrats!

I would tell that doctor to get bent! I have never heard of a doctor refusing care until you have the "card". My doctor insists on one visit before 12 weeks. Plus, you could get the cards tomorrow and who knows then te appt would be. I would find another doctor and explain the situation to their billing department. I work at an insurance company and people call ALL day long verifying insurance for people who don't have their cards.....so PLENTY of other doctors still treat. I think your doc is just an arrogant pig!

Find a different doctor. Why do you need the card if your doctors office can call your insurance company and verify your insurance? I've had to do the dsame thing before. If my insurance cards didn't arrive in the mail the receptionist would call my insurance company and verify that I do indeed have insurance. IThats part of what their job is. If your doctor is not willing to be cooperative with you then he's not a very good doctor and you should fire him and find a better doctor. Good Luck!

You can never be too early to see the doctor but (not to scare you) 10 weeks is a little late to be seeing the doctor after having complications in the past. I know what you are going through my husband insurance didnt kick in till I was 6 months pregnant with my first son. So I waited it didnt hurt me or the baby but in your case if it were me I would be a little nervous. Just try to stay calm for the baby. GOOD LUCK!!!

You should try a different doctor. One that won't see you just b/c you don't have your card yet is questionable in the type of care you will receive. You do need to be seen as you may be high risk having a child at 26 weeks prior to this.

I would find another doctor that will see you. You shouldn't have to wait for a card as long as you can obtain your group # and ID # from the insurance company. Normally, 10wks is still early and I wouldn't worry at all. However, since you have had a baby pre term before I would think you should be seen ASAP.
