I want a pet, my bird died last year, and I was wondering if I should get a new bird or get a mouse or both.

I think it would be 'better' if you got a slightly 'hardier' pet, like a RAT. I know, you probably think rats are 'dirty' but have you ever actually 'smelled' a rat's cage in a pet shop, and then smelled the mouse's cage? MICE STINK, and the are not nearly as 'clean' as a rat. If you think that you need to earn money for it, then you need to have a 'long talk' with your parents about it, first, because they have the 'final answer' when it comes to what pets you get/don't get. Be prepared to 'show them that you are responsible' enough to take care of whatever pet you get, and that you KNOW how often they'll need to be cleaned (the cage, that is) and fed and watered, and what they 'can' do and what they 'can't' do ... and if you can 'do that' or if your parents are willing to 'help you learn' then you can get whatever pet you all decide is 'right' for you. Just remember that MICE STINK and rats can actually learn how to 'clean their own cages' if you teach them right.

okay, a dog would be your best bet a chuaua because the are very sweet and loving and very protective of their owner, a mouse is cute but it can eat throug things and if it gets lost out of its cage it becomes wild and its not really worth the trouble, as for a bird if you want one kewl, but i prefer dogs.

Try putting cheese in the snake cage along with the mouse - the snake will then be busy eating the cheese which will give the mouse time to get to know the sake better.

Mice are very small and arent very fun......but rats on the other hand are interesting and they are a little bigger......they can be very loving too. Birds are great too though......try one that talks......cockatiels are good birds and they are easy to train.

I agree with getting a rat. They are much cleaner than mice and are very smart. They can be trained to some exent as well.

I think that instead of getting a mouse, I would get a rat. They aren't expensive, especially if you get a "feeder", but I would only get a feeder if it was a baby.

Forget trying to make money off animals. Have you looked at the population of animals that have no homes???
