I have been good friends with this girl for 15 years. We are both 20 now, and she is getting on my last nerve, because she is so boring! I tell her she acts like a 45 year old bitter divorce'. I like to dance, act silly, and have fun. She won't have fun with me. Even if there is no one else around. She told me some lame excuse about why she won't, but I know she made it up. I don't want to stop being friends with her over this, but I'm so annoyed at her "oh woe is me" attitude. I'm not asking for the impossible, I'm just asking her to get off her butt and have some fun with me. Act her age!!! It's really bothering me.

Well unfortunatly, she is one of the few people who make time for me. I don't get to spend time with alot of other people. Plus, I have no car, she is basically my ride around town. And she lives with us. If she wasn't around, I would be alone almost 24/7. She wasn't always this way.

People sometimes grow in different directions, time to find a new running mate and save your friend for family occasions.

Bah - don't rely on her to entertain you, just go out and have fun yourself. You can't change people who don't want to.
Maybe just accept the fact that she's good to complain to over coffee, and not a good nightclub buddy. Plus, when/if you're ever a bitter 45-year-old divorcee, you might re-discover how good of a friend she is.
For now, though, I'd say cultivate some other friends. You don't have to dump her, but don't give up on everything you want to do because of her.

Yeah totally my best friend is the same way and he's only 18 i mean he's been my bud since like we were kids but he just acts so old and dosent want to have fun and do stupid things omg god forbid you do something bad he's like a parent sometimes
Ok so i do understand where your coming from that's why i kinda find other people to have fun with and do that stuff with and he is kinda like a confidant i guess i don't know why he is that way he use to be fun but he changed ehhhh
I usually try to make them have fun by doing stuff on purpose that make them get into trouble with me or laugh ro whatever just to get them to lighten up try doing something crazy like clubbing or bar hoping or whatever i don't know just a thought i even wanted to bring to a strip club to lighten gosh the man needs it ...lol

Keep her as your "boring" friend. Get a new exciting new friend for fun nights.

if shes your best friend, then she should be able to understand. Just tell her that your not trying to be mean or anything, but your a bit boring.

just say youre busy and we should consider other friendships....find someone more compatable....there are certain signs thet bore me to death
