One of the first applications built to find and remove adware and spyware, Ad-Aware SE Personal Edition's excellent reputation is well justified. The sky-blue, skinnable interface features five buttons. The first two, Status and Scan, lead to the core function of the application. These buttons initiate a scan of your files for adware components. After scanning is complete, the program presents a summary of results, followed by a list from which you select exactly which components to remove. Right-clicking an individual entry gives some information about the piece of suspected adware, though we would like more details.
Ad-Aware SE can alert you to more malignant forms of malware by separating items into critical and negligible categories. The third button, Ad-Watch, is nonfunctional in the Standard version. The fourth button, Plug-ins, shows you which Ad-Aware plug-ins are installed. The fifth leads to the help files.Ad-Aware SE does an excellent job of quickly finding and removing most adware and spyware components, although you will have to restart and rescan for a seriously infected machine. We were pleased to see an auto-update feature included with the program, keeping Ad-Aware up-to-date with the latest adware components. Ad-Aware SE should be part of your arsenal for keeping your machine free of adware and spyware components.

Spybot - Search & Destroy detects and removes spyware, a relatively new kind of threat not yet covered by common anti-virus applications. Spyware silently tracks your surfing behaviour to create a marketing profile for you that is transmitted without your knowledge to the compilers and sold to advertising companies. If you see new toolbars in your Internet Explorer that you haven't intentionally installed, if your browser crashes inexplicably, or if your home page has been "hijacked" (or changed without your knowledge), your computer is most probably infected with spyware. Even if you don't see the symptoms, your computer may be infected, because more and more spyware is emerging. Spybot-S&D is free, so there's no harm giving it a try to see if something has invaded your computer.

If you are using Windows XP, there is a built in restore function that will allow you to go back to your computer settings from an earlier date (it backs up your settings daily), I have used this when I got a virus last year, and it worked great, took about 5 minutes to get back to normal. I even had a firewall and Norton Antivirus running when I got it, and Norton never saw or picked up the virus, even after I had it, but a malware program called Prevx did, and you can get a free trial of it also to see if you like it.
I don't recall if doing the restore fixed the problem by itslef, but I know I ran the prevx removal option, and it removed the virus, but I think I still had many corrupt system files, so I ran the restore back to a date before the virus, and it fixed the problem.

I guess this would be a sign that you shouldn't be a pirate. Piracy is illegal. And I don't understand how you could publicly state the fact that you were illegally downloading something (a movie in this case) on a site that's so huge. But that's on you. On to the problem. It depends on what worm you've been infected with. If you run a scan and it tells you the name, simply Google for a removal tool. If a removal tool doesn't exist you may try finding manual removal instructions. Either way it'll most like need to be done in Safe Mode, as Safe Mode loads only the necessary components that Windows needs in order to function. It doesn't load your video driver, your sound driver, and so on. It also doesn't load any unnecessary services. But if the worm is as nasty as Virtumonde, for example, the best bet would be to backup any important data (after scanning it first to make sure it isn't infected as well) and formatting your hard drive, then installing a fresh copy of Windows. I say that because a lot of the newer viruses/worms inject themselves into the memory for necessary Windows processes/services, such as Svchost.exe, which is Windows' Generic Service Host. That makes it nearly impossible to get rid of. Good luck. And hopefully someone working for anti-piracy doesn't see this and fine you and/or throw you in prison. =D

First of all do you know the viruses name??? If you do then attempt to go to Symantecs website (www.symantec.com) and go to their virus removal section they offer many tools to remove viruses and worms. If you are unable to go their then use your system restore disk (it should have came with your computer) and restore everything (WARNING: RESTORING WILL DELETE EVERYTHING ON YOUR HARDRIVE). But whatever you do, do not backup your harddrvie because there maybe a chance that a part or duplicate of the virus made it in the backup. There is one more alternative but includes wiping out your whole Hard drive, with the use of a F-DISK. You can create on your self just go to the net and search for it. This is a major problem, I would like to help you in anyway possible because virtually spread over the Net by itself. So when its done tell me how it goes by sending me a e-mail at shamikulamin@yahoo.ca (also my MSN ID for Messenger).
I really hope it works out for you, but either way if it works or doesn't tell me because I had a similar problem. And got it fixed a funny way.
For the future I suggest you buy Norton Internet Security 2007, the best protection available with Antivirus, Firewall, Antispyware, Antiadware, Antiphising and a Internal Virus Removing Engine. (Do not trust free softwares many of them do nothing or put Adware into your computer). You can try the FREE AOL Antivirus but I highly Recommend you pruchase Symantec's Norton Internet Security 2007 (For XP and Vista only). If you have any Operating System lower then buy Norton Internet Security 2006 (comes with NIS 2005 for windows 98 and ME users)

Turn your computer on and go to safe mode this way you do not have internet and most likely the virus will be dorment. thier use what ever tool you use to get rid of it spybot norton ect. safe mode will only use the process needed for xp. If this doesn't help try backing it up a few months.
