The first time I heard my son's heartbeat it was high but every time after that it has been anywhere from 120's-140's. I think it is a myth but it did happen to be true for me low heartbeat=boy.

I don't think it's totally accurate. But girl's heartbeats are faster than boys. I think the heartbeat of a girl is at least 150. So I would say it's a girl. Ask your doctor for the sex of the baby.

[myth] -- I have heard that you can predict the gender of your baby by using the heart rate of your baby during pregnancy. It was said that 140+ beats per minute (BPM) was a girl and under 140 BPM was a boy.
[truth] -- This has actually been a pretty popular theory in gender prediction for a long time.
The heart rate of your baby fluctuates as they grow and as they move. Heart rates start out slower, and then by 8-10 weeks run in the range of 170-200 BPM (beats per minute).
As your approach mid-pregnancy the average heart rates run between 120 - 160 BPM.
If your baby moves, his or her heart rate goes up, just as your heart rate does with movement. However, none of these is related to the gender of your baby.
A study was actually done to test this theory. The study actually shows that there is no correlation between gender and fetal heart rate. Although they did find a correlation between heart rate and gestational age prior to 9.2 weeks. -- Robin Weiss

it actually was accurate for me both times....heart rate was above 149 and i guessed girl. Sure enough, it was a girl. However, it doesnt work for many. My sister in law just had a boy and when she first started hearing his heartbeat it was in the high 160's...almost until delivery....we had all assumed girl before the u/s was done. We were all wrong though, he was a boy. 50/50 chance....sucks though to not know for sure. only way to be almost positive is u/s. They are hardly ever wrong with those these days.

NO IT IS NOT ACCURATE
A baby's heartbeat has more to do with gestational age than anything else. The younger the fetus, the higher the heartrate. Baby's that are term or overdue have lower heart rates.

That's an old wives tale. The old wives tale says that if it's above 150 it's usually a girl. I believe that's the #. My babies heartrate has always been 167. Mine is a boy for sure. So, that blew the old wives tale out of the water for me.

My honest answer......it's a baby. The heart rate goes up when they're awake and moving about in there. I've got 4 boys and their hearts beat that fast and also much slower.
Give it time mama, you'll know pink or blue in a month or two.
Good luck!!!

i'm 26 weeks with a boy, had my app on the prompt, His heart beat turned right into 100 thirty, yet very last month it turned right into 100 and sixty and has been before. i do not imagine it particularly is precise in any respect. heart fee is distinct threw the finished being pregnant. between 100 thirty-one hundred eighty is primary.
