Not sure about your question...but just tune your guitar regularly...and then just tune the low E string to sound like the D string. Sorry if it doesn't help.

To drop D tune a guitar, here's what you have to do, when you tune a guitar normal or standard you are tuning E open tuning, so to drop D, you put a capo on the second fret from the top, and then you tune the guitar to open E tuning, that's with the capo on, so when you take the capo off now, that leaves you in D open tuning !!

Tune up as normal then lower the 6th string E down to the 4th string D played open as your tuning guide.Simple as that. Now you can use the capo,it has nothing to do with the initial tuning up.

tune it so when you have your finger on the second fret on the low e string it is in tune as an e, when you rermove your finger the open string should be a D.
this will give you drop d tuning.
if you then use a capo it will be like playing a bar chord as the low string is already 2 frets lower

i appreciate open and change tunings. There are purely some gadgets that provide help to to regulate their tonality so quickly and really. you may also attempt double drop D - the position the severe E is decreased as well. on the prompt i'm keeping my substantial guitar in open D, and some adult adult males truly like DADGAD, Davey Graham popularized it in Britain. He and some human beings/blues guitarists use it purely about completely. definite, metallic gamers use drop D, often times going extra to drop C. I also truly like open C as well. between the drawbacks to distinct tunings is they could decrease the keys you're prepared to play in (in a practicle way besides). you may attempt utilising a capo, i actually want a Shubb. It too is to be able to regulate your tonality. i'm no longer advantageous what that woman meant at the same time as she reported no longer lots of the great guitarists do not use tunings. it is purely that there are a superb type of executed guitar gamers that maximum human beings under no circumstances listen of! they do no longer have massive money labels in the back of them. the fashion of music they play isn't at present conventional and so on. yet many tremendous guitar gamers use tunings. distinct tunings are also straight forward between slide guitar gamers. in any case, don't experience responsible in any respect about what you do once you play guitar. purely experience responsible once you do not play guitar!

Drop D tuning went away along with Grunge and Nu Metal. Stick with the standard tuning. It's worked well for years and years.
