I didnt give my daughter a middle name when she was born. I tried to give her one when she was like 2 years old. I knew a lawyer and he said he would help me out but he didnt do much , he just gave me the run around.
My daughter is now 13 years old and I seriouly want to do it. Please , someone that has done this or knows how to do this, let me know.

You could do this without an attorney, depending on where you live. Just look up the Petition for a name change, make the adaptations that apply to your situation and file it at the county clerk's office. You will have to pay a filing fee.
My mom changed her first name a few years ago and she did it without an attorney. I think her filing fee was $150 to $185. Then you just go to court on the assigned day and the judge signs an order making the name change permanent.
That was my experience.

It is very similar to having a name changed. If the mother and father are in agreement all you have to do is go to the courthouse and get a petition for name change. You fill it out and appear in court and its done. It costs different amounts in different states and counties but is very simple as long as both parents agree to it. You dont need a lawyer unless the father doesnt agree to it or is not in the picture.

i'm no longer advantageous what you propose through will I take care of to operate it. The regulation states that as an human being you're loose to regulate your call to at least something you want. there is not any reason that you'll be able to't upload a midsection call. that is likewise your determination to regulate your very last call lower back. Take care, Troy

You will have to petition the court for a name change. You can probably find the forms online for your state, complete the forms and file it as indicated on the forms. The court will notify you as to when you should appear in court to obtain the name change.

I'm in Canada and you have to fill out the name change forms and send in the money and have a guarantor sign it... a few months later if all the info is right then they send you her new birth certificate ...so i guess it depends where you live

Don't give up! Call another lawyer in your town. If it is important to you and your daughter, keep trying. Usually the first call to a lawyer is considered free advice? Good Luck! I do wish I had more answers for you,,,,,,,,,,but, I gave you my best sounding advice.

In our state, Missouri, you would need an attorney and actually go to court for a judge to change her name. You might go to the website of the bar for your state and ask them. (We have the Missouri Bar, which governs our state's attorneys)
