Visiting a friend, sprinkler went on and covered my car's windshield with the hardest water ever. How can I remove those nasty rings without ruining/scratching the windshield?

try a household product called Lime Away. It can be pretty caustic so limit the exposure just to the glass and not painted or chromed surfaces.

Here is the secret..... use Vinegar, mix it in you bottle of glass plus or windex. I lived in Germany for 4 years. They have hard water, so everytime I washed my car I had to use vinegar to get the spots off, it works like a champ and costs what?? $1 for a bottle.... :)

Glass polish. I ordered off the web in England. They used to sell glass wax here.

Use vinegar then clean with window cleaner then use Rain-X.

ooo steel wool will take them off, any hardware store carries them.
