I would like to have mobile Internet access for my laptop and have tried using Verizon's mobile office kit in the past, which allowed me to hook up to my phone to access the Internet. I have a lot of minutes with them, so I never went over, but it was between $50 and $60 a month. Are there any other options out there that are a little lest costly so that I can access the Internet using my laptop? I do have wireless capability on my laptop, but it only works when there is wireless available!

First of all $50-60/month for Dial-Up is VERY, VERY expensive, that price is way overpriced (even more than DSL an CABLE!!). So my suggestion would be is go to Bell South (if you live in the states) and take a DSL connection from them they start at $24.95/month (not an introductory price) and up depending on what speed you choose (their all fast and doesn't tie up your phoneline). If you live in Canada try Bell Canada Awsome speed starting from $19.95 for Basic Lite High Speed. If your not comfortable with DSL then try Cable connections. For the states go to Comcast High Speed, its VERY, VERY fast and starts as low as $29.95/month. For Canadians goto Rogers Yahoo! High Speed Internet starting from $19.95/month and up (Rogers Extreme Internet set at 8 mbps, cost: $100 Modem Purchase and $49.95/month. Still uncomfortable? Try satellite internet it may be a bit expensive (around 40-50, sometimes more depending on the provider) but very good service. Also try AOL Broadband (its a trusted company with very good customer service and quality connections), its around $45/month flat and is available almost everyehere in the States and select cities in Canada.
