My Stats and Prob. professor told us to chart a Pareto chart in Excel, but I do not have that program. I do have Quattro Pro and I see that I can make charts here too. How do I enter in my data so that it will appear on the chart? Right now, the question will contain the annual number of deaths from injuries per 100,000 children. So my data will be: Australia, 9.5; Canada, 9.7; Denmark, 8.1; France, 9.1; and so on....... How do I enter this into the cells properly so it will make a Pareto chart?

Do it manually, its more fun.

Sort descendening
Do a cumulative total

data......cumulative
15......15
10.......25
5.........30

divide the cumulative with the total
data......cumulative.....Cumul...
15......15.......30
10.......25.......83%
5.........30......100%

select data and cumulative column using control key
do not select the middle cumulative column
we only need the data and cumulative% column

create a 2 axis column and line chart, example here

draw lines to bisect 80%
