If a female livebearer is stressed she will not give birth but may in fact re-absorb the young. Make sure there is nothing stressing her out, including the male. Get him out and put him in a tank of his own or a breeding trap and leave him there for several weeks after the females have given birth.
Make sure the water quality is up to scratch, regular water changes, etc, and the temp is stable. Livebearer young develop faster at higher temperatures and the pregnancy time is significantly shortened by the higher temp. However, higher temps mean the water goes off quicker, bacteria in the water multiply faster, and there is less oxygen in the water. Keep the temp between 22-28 degrees C.
Have lots of hiding places for the mother and young. Floating plants are the best and water sprite is my personal choice. If you don't have any floating plants pull some out of the gravel and let them float on the surface. Ludwigia, Ambulia, Hydrilla are all fine for this purpose and will continue to grow floating. Swordplants and crypts should not be pulled out of the gravel as it messes them up. You can use plastic plants and just let them float on the surface.
When these parameters are met the fish will give birth when they are ready.
