The simple fact is when you upgrased to XP pro, the sound card driver was not updated. You will need the sound driver for your make and model of PC and the only way to get it is from the PC manufacturers website. You will need to use a PC that connects to the net and then save the file to a flash drive or burn it to a disk and install it on your PC.

attempt redownloading the drivers on your audio. Sounds to me like some audio settings would were messed with. yet another possibilty is the audio device are shorting out causing the static, attempt a distinct set of audio device, even a cheap headset plugged in will ascertain no matter if it is your audio device. you may also attempt paying for a seperate PCI sound card and setting up it, be advantageous you disable any onboard sound interior the BIOS fter rebooting with new card in position. this function can also relieve the processor somewhat as well. With the computing gadget being purely 3 months previous I heavily doubt that it is your sound chip on the motherboard although. feasible yet i'd imagine it will be lower than assure nonetheless and no matter if that is deliver it lower back and get it replaced.

When you upgraded Windows to XP it simply didnt detect what appropriate drivers are needed for your SOUND CARD...

In order to find your SOUNDCARD drivers, you need to know the BRAND and MODEL # of your soundcard...

Or if it is a prebuilt system like DELL< HP<
This will tell you what your soundcard type is and allow you to get the drivers to make it work.

You might need to install sound drivers.
If you have the CD that came with your motherboard or computer, and that sound is onboard, drivers will be located on that disc.
If you don't have the CD, you can go to the companys website and most provide drivers.

You can also try doing windows update if you have a legitmate copy(Most people who have XP pro do not). Most of the time it will pick up older drivers.
