Could just have failed - or rather the eject mechanism. Typically there is a little hole in the front of the tray that you can stick a straightened paper clip into to make it pop open.
Other than the inconvenience, the drive may be fine.

Download and RE-install the DVD DRivers.
Dell--go to the dell download drivers site

maybe an repair service in which you'd must take the tower in

next to the drive there should be a tiny hole, put a paperclip in that hole and it should pop open, no harm done, good luck fixing it though, that will only open it

you have a defected or jammed CD drive eject button,.take it to the computer shop to fix,.,.
