A Teen's reproductive system is not fully mature. The risks include babies born of small birth weight, under developed organs that can lead to preterm labor, miscarriage and/or SIDS after the baby is born. There are also risks to the mother too, like placenta abruption or uterine rupture.

The dangers and symptoms of teen pregnancy are the same as any other age pregnancy with a heightened risk in High Blood Pressure and pre-ecalmpsia. There is also a higher risk of "Baby Blues", Depression during pregnancy, or PPD.
A OB/GYN once told me that the teen years are the "prime" time to have children because the hips are not "in place" and there is less chance of needing physical therapy afterward.

I have a cousin that is 14 and 5 months pregnant...and we have noticed with her she has lost most of her self esteem..She doesnt like to be around people any more she seems very down and out. She is considering marrying the father although shes only 14 and thats going to screw up her life forever. Shes also planning to drop out of school at 16 so she can be a good mom. Although i agree that she needs to be a good mom leaving school isnt going to help that. But she also has missed several days of school in this 5 months because she is so sick and has been hospitalized for most of the time. They said her body just wasnt ready for changes like that..She wasnt done growing yet and the baby has stumped her growth because the baby needs to grow and her body is helping it along instead of helping itself. Other than that im sure the symptoms are all the same in pregnancy..Although in high school being pregnant probably isnt going to get you invited out on many dates or to to many parties. go to your search browser and type in "pregnancy symptoms" and you will get a whole list of places to look. Good Luck with your project!

To prepare for having a baby follow these instructions:
Have someone record a screaming baby and play it full blast 24/7
Get up every 1-2 hrs and stub your toes in the dark
Blindfold yourself and prepare a bottle, make sure it is the right temperature and spill it on yourself. (this will simulate waking up out of a dead sleep and having the baby puke all over you)
Change your clothes. Attempt to put clothing on a wild cat (this will simulate how it is to dress a baby)
Repeat the above over and over and over and over and....
The above will not show you what it is like to take care of a sick baby or how it feels to throw away your youth. It will not show you how childbirth feels (although I do have some tips on that as well). It will not show you all the sacrafices you will make for the mext 18 yrs of that child's life. It will not show you what it is like to tell your buddies that you can't go to prom because you don't have a babysitter. If you have a choice in the matter WAIT.

I thought you weren't pregnant? They are the same as in any pregnancy. If you are pregnant you need to tell your dad and see a doctor. Good luck

seek some research on your own, ask a physician (obgyn) as they can better help you. if it's you, with the "a 14 yr old" nickname, seek some professional psychological help.
