Oh, this topic makes me so mad sometimes! Why does the church believe it would be better for a child to have no parents at all and live in "the system" than to have two loving parents...simply because of their sexual orientation? Two "straight" parents can raise their own child who could grow up to be homosexuals...so why is the church to believe that a homosexual couple will raise a child to be homosexual? That is just bull. I grew up with friends at a child care home who never had bed time story's, trips to the zoo, a kiss on the band-aid, or someone to snuggle when they were scared. "The system" cared for their physical needs, but not the emotional ones. There are too many children out there in need of love and attention...why deprive them of that? There are to many couples out there who regardless of their sexual orientation have love and support to give a child, but are childless...why deprive them?

I think the Catholic church (who are objecting to adoption) should put their own house in order before telling others how they should live. There have been many cover ups where children were abused when sent to church by their parents who thought their children were in a safe environment.
In an ideal world adopted children would have a mother and father to make them feel the same as their school friends but that is not saying they could not have a happy home with gay parents.

I am anti church and anti religion, so I'll just do my usual thing and ignore the church and religion thing.
You have already made up your mind on the subject so not much use trying to persuade you to the opposite direction.
However you have asked for thoughts on the subject.
My first thoughts were to picture this young kid being taken to his new school on his first day along with Mummy and Daddy, who are both a 'same sex' couple, the kid doesn't know what its all about but maybe the other older kids in his new school do?
I was going to ramble on here but the very thought has put me right off! Can you imagine what the rest of that kids life would be like??
Inviting a friend around to the house, two fellers sitting on the sofa watching TV arms around each other etc etc!!! UGhhhhhh.
The thought makes me want to really squirm.

Yes. The Catholic church are saying that if the government try to force them to accept same sex adoptions from Catholic church run foster homes, the homes will have to close. They are simply standing up for what they believe in. It is always good to see people standing up for their honestly held believes and not be pushed around by the PC crew and government spin doctors.
Also a child needs both parents as role models, both male and female

I suppose it all depends in what you believe in. I don't have anything against gay couples. my belief is that we were created by God, one man for one woman. i think same sex couples is wrong so i would not allow a child to grow up around that. children need a balance while they are growing and learning. I believe it is important to have both a mum and a dad.....
although I'm christian, the church and state should be kept separate.

There is freedom of speech, but the church isn't the government. IMHO, the church should get back to being more vocal on charitable concerns instead of bigotry verging on hate crime. If someone said "they can't adopt because of their race or religion", I don't think it would sound very credible. If someone said "they can't adopt because of criminal or abuse history", that would be something else. The gay-bashing "argument" is just a biased push towards insinuating the latter.

Yes, it is infinitely wiser to deny a child any parent & leave them in foster care or have a miserable life than have a loving parent, just because of someone's sexual orientation <-that would be sarcasm. Give the choice between abusive, alcoholic or absent parents, I would recommend that a child have loving parents, no matter their sexual orientation, race or national origin.

No the church should not stop some innocent child having two unrelated mothers or fathers looking after it.Someone else should. The chold will only grow up confused about life.

No one should interfere when two decent human beings want to give a parent-less child a home .
The Westboro Baptist "church" calls itself a church-but they do not represent religion ; only hate & bigotry .

Being gay is an abomination stated by GOD. Therefore, I don't believe that gay people should be allowed to adopt children. They are not going to set a possitive example for that child. This is my opinion and it was asked for. If you don't like what I say then take it up with GOD. These are GODs' rules, not mine. Thank you.
