Initially you need to ice it to reduce possible swelling and take motrin/advil etc. for inflammation of the muscle

You need to stretch daily and wait approx. 2 weeks before engaging in exercise that stresses the abductor muscle (groin).

I recently did it playing soccer and immediately pulled it again the following week. In the past after 2 weeks, it was not re-injured

mnemonic RICE if its recent:
Rest
Ice for initial 48 hrs with a pack for 15 min till slightly numb then expose to room temp for another 5 min before
Compression with an elastic crepe bandage
repeat the process 8 hrly
Elevation probably doesn't apply in proximal limb
May take a couple of weeks to heal if no gross muscle tear
After the initial period massage or deep ultrasound or shortwave diathermy will be helpful.

if it doesn't hurt too much, try and stretch the muscle by opening your legs as wide as you can and bend over to touch the ground.
or you can do the same sitting on the floor. this way you stretch the adbuctors. this has helped me many times, it is important to stretch while the muscle is still warm to get the blood circulating better.
hope this will help.

pulled or it hurts?
pulled = go find another hobby.
hurt = work the muscles around it and it will heal at a much faster pace.
