start with fruits one a week, week by week, then try veggies in the same manner depending on your little ones appetite and needs you should try either an late morning or early evening feeding schedule for the first few months. Milk still should be given at each feeding

No, milk is still the upmost important meal until she is 12 months. Rice cereal is great. Try adding some Oatmeal to her breakfast & stage 1 fruits for lunch. She should already be on stage 2 though. When my daughter was 6 months I gave her some oatmeal for breakfast w/ her formula. Then at 12:00 I gave her 1/2 a jar of fruit & 1/2 veggie with her milk, then at 2:30 she had more milk again.

The advice I could give you is this, I started my daughter, now 9 months old, on baby food at 6 months. You should start with the veggies first. If you find that she wont eat it try to mix it with a little fruit on the end of the spoon. Start with stage one and move up. Kaylie is now on stage three and table veggies and potatoes. There is really no sure way of starting off baby foods but you will know when she is ready. Yes she will drink less milk when you start the food. All you can do is try if it does not work now try in a few days or so.

Rice cereal first.... then start trying other single grain cereals (oats, wheat). Leave a 4-5 day gap between introduction of new foods to see if there is any negative reaction.

Start introducing veggies and fruits and even some meats/beans. Just introduce slowly to make it easiest on your baby's tummy. When my daughter started eating solids (around 6 months) she only would have smooth, pureed foods... now she hates the smooth stuff and wants stuff with texture, or stuff she can pick up on her own (even though it doesn't often make it into her mouth)

Just be creative and have fun.

Start each meal with nursing, solid food is supplemental at this age still not the primary calorie source. After nursing offer solid foods. Since you are already doing rice cereal you can introduce vegetables next, a new one excusively for 4 days at a time to identify possible allergies. After the vegis come the fruits. No honey (botulism), peanut butter (not until after age 2), or strawberries until 1 year old. Also no citrus juices.

Your going to get a wide range of answers on this question sweety. My son was started on cereals as requested by his dr at his 2 month check up. They say if a baby is taking in 32 ounces a day its time for solids. My son wasnt takin in that much but at 2 months pyschologly they are ready. By 6 months he was already on his fruits, veggies, and meats. Start off slowly and keep giving him his milk as she takes in more solids her milk intake will decrease slightly {so they claim} My son had cereal for breakfast w a bottle, veggies-fruit-meat for lunch w a bottle, and same for dinner w a bottle and bottles in between as he wanted them. He's 8 months, born a month premature and 20-22 pounds of pure fun and healthy and that is all that matters to me

Best advice is to talk to the doctor. My wife and I started our daughter and son at 4 mo. with cereal. My grandmother got pregnant a few months after my Dad was born and her milk soured. She had to feed him on soupy mashed potatoes and everyone thought it would kill him. Obviously they were wrong. Sometimes too you just have to go with your gut.

There are alot of good suggestions already, but just remember introduce one thing at a time, over a couple days before giving her something else new. this way you can watch for allergies and things.

I can tell you my experience. By 6 months, both my kids were eating cereal, fruits and veggies and even chewing on pizza.
