Its a little high, but nothing to worry all that much about. I stayed in a hotel near there and I was charged about 45. The drivers down there can really rip you off if you dont watch out. But considering the distance ( 25 miles from airport) 63$ is nothing crazy, although not great either.

With its bright sandy beaches, leaping hills and picturesque harbour, it's no wonder that Rio de Janeiro is recognized as the "cidade maravilhosa", or marvellous town and with hotelbye you are able to take the chance and visit this particular city. Rio de Janeiro is facing the South Atlantic coast and may be the second-largest town in Brazil. That town is lucky with one of the very most wonderful organic settings for a town in the world. The amazing landscape is one among the reason why that visitors decided Rio de Janeiro. All through carnival period, a festival that everyone seen, the streets load with music and ornately costumed dancers getting tourists from all around the globe.

Hey, we booked a company(or at least our Brazil based travel agent friend did) called Rio Airport Transfer - www.rioairporttransfer.com - They charge per car, not per person and they wait for you in the airport with one of those signs with your name on it. The taxi drivers in Rio are crazy, and will rip you off 3 times over if they get the chance, so definately pre-book your transfer if you can. Our driver was really nice, and even obeyed most of the road rules :-)
Cheers

$63 is definetly on hte dear side...I think htey ripped you off...If it was a yellow cab that you just picked up outside the airport then I am not surprised...for the future: Take one of the white cabs, they have aircon and will tell you a fixed price before taking you anywhere

Whoa! That's way too much! I only paid $30 USD to Ipanema. Shouldn't Copa be even less?

You, you definitely got ripped off. It should've probably been $63 reais, US$25ish.
