This word is one of those things in the English that are always used in the plural form. You should always use trousers, not trouser. Think of the word trouser as being only 1 leg. Since no sane person would make clothing that has only 1 leg, the word "trousers" is always used. This is also why it is called a pair, because it always comes in twos... since humans naturally have 2 legs. This is just like the word "scissors' - we don't say "scissor" - we say "scissors" or "pair of scissors"

I thought it was because of the two legs even though it is one article. Just like a pair of glasses. When it is only one.

I don't know but they say that in germany - it's soooo confusing in class that you don't say it with plural endings!
