Question : My Computer is running slow for games, and i need help to get it back to its prime.
Question Details: Hi, My computer used to run at topnotch speed in counter strike, 100 fps and now i get 50, my computer is 5 years old, but its still good comparred to other comps out there.

Reformatting is the only sure fire cure. The stuff mentioned above may help or it may not. You should back up your stuff anyway, since you never know when your HD will completely fail.

A lot of the time when you install programs they put an exe in the startup. Basically that means your machine starts up running too many programs. Go to Start > Run > msconfig
Then select the startup tab and check the box of all the unimportant programs.
Do the defrag too and cleanup.

I think there must have some regsitry errors and spyware in you PC to slow it down.

Try these they help clean out crap in your pc that you dont need and that make it run slower ewido.com and ccleaner.com both are great you can use one or both if you think you have alot of viruses use both good luck

get rid of any unnecessary programs, files. then de-frag ur cp. i think its in accessories or w/e
