I am just trying to figure out which one I want 14.1" or 15.4". Can anybody tell me from their experience if a 14.1" seemed to small to them? I am not going to be taking it anywhere , just around the house.

the problem is the "new" widescreen format. the old 14.1" format (4:3) was excellent and big enough, but the new format (16:9 widescreen) looks tiny (the height of the screen is too little), so i would recommend to choose a 15.4" screen.

My old laptop has a 14.1" screen and my new one has a 15.4" widescreen. I love the widescreen ... absolutely love it ... but beware of a potential problem for some games, particularly older ones. There are some games, like LOTR and Sims (original) that you cant set for a window or for a widescreen, so the porportions are all skewed.

Other than that, there was not an appreciable difference to me of the two.

I'd say that 14.1" is too small for a laptop. I have a 15" on my PC at home and its easy to read everything on it. Overall, 1.3" wont really make a big difference.

It accords if it's wide (16:9) or not (4:3), if it is wide, you'll be getting less screen for your money (or the size). For example a 15" (4:3) lcd has much more screen size than a 15" widescreen (16:9) lcd.

my laptop screen is 17.5 and i love my laptop if there are two laptops you are considering and you only want it for home and not to take around then i wuld go with the bigger one as it will be easer to see sand so on bit 1 inch isant A LOT, IF THERE IS A BIG DIFFERENCE IN PRICE THEN YOU MAY WANT TO GO WITH THE CHEEPER ONE, (SORRY ABOUT THE CAPS I PRESSED CAPS LOCK ACCEDENTALY)
